Cameron Diaz may be engaged as she’s been spotted in new photos with a gigantic ring amid reports that Benji Madden proposed to her.

Diaz, 42, was spotted leaving a Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood recently wearing a gold band with a sparkling rock.

She has only been spotted with the ring once before, in October at a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in Brentwood, California.

The second citing comes as an industry source close to Diaz told News Corp Australia that Madden, 35, has finally proposed.

The source says the proposal did come last month.

Madden is one-half of The Madden Brothers with twin Joel; both were coaches on The Voice Kids Australia earlier this year.

Benji and Cameron started dating in April after being introduced by his sister-in-law Nicole Richie.

Madden revealed to Details magazine in September that he had gotten used to the idea of starting a family.

“It’s what every man wants, whether they admit it or not,” he said.

Madden was engaged to Australian Sophie Monk but they split in 2008 before getting married.

Diaz has had a number of boyfriends, including singer Justin Timberlake.

Neither Diaz nor Madden has commented on the engagement rumors.

But a source told Us Weekly that a number of people close to the couple would be happy if they were engaged, including Benji’s mother Billie.

“Billie has been gushing about Cameron’s new relationship,” the insider said. “She absolutely loves Benji and she hopes this is the man her daughter will finally settle down with.”

Diaz has in the past, though, dismissed the idea of marriage.

“I think the big misconception in our society is that we’re supposed to meet the one when we’re 18 and we’re supposed to get married to them and love them for the rest of our lives. [expletive],” she told UK’s Stylist magazine in 2010.

“Have someone for five years and another person for another five years... Life is long and lucky and yes, love might last forever, but you don’t always live with the person you love forever.”
