A digital freeway sign was apparently programmed to show support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The sign is located in Corona, California near El Centro on the 15 Freeway near El Cerrito Road.
The sign stated: “Inland Empire supports Donald Trump. Merry Xmas. Vote Donald Trump.” Inland Empire is the name of the region.
A woman posted a video of the sign on Facebook, where it has already generated hundreds of thousands of views and shares.
A California Department of Transportation spokesperson told ABC News affiliate KABC-TV it appeared someone reprogrammed the sign.
It is unclear as to how long the sign was reprogrammed.
According to KABC-TV, the sign has since been programmed to display normal traffic warnings as of Sunday.
Meanwhile, a new poll showed that Trump was tied with Pope Francis in a U.S. poll for the second most-admired man in the world. But the Gallup survey, which interviewed Americans, found that President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton were their most admired man and woman in the world, respectively.
“Although Clinton and Obama each led this year’s poll by significant margins, the percentage mentioning each as most admired is slightly lower than the percentages they have received in the past. Across the eight times Obama has been most admired man, an average 23% of Americans have named him, while in the 20 times Clinton has been most admired woman, an average 16% have named her,” Gallup said.
