Police arrested a woman Feb. 28 alleging she tried to kidnap a 4-year-old boy at a Target store in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Police Department identified the woman Feb. 29 as Los Angeles resident Vanessa Yara Pineda, 27.
The woman allegedly grabbed and took the child outside the store last Sunday, according to police.
The alleged attempted kidnapping was thwarted when one of the child’s parents confronted the woman, which prompted her to flee the scene on foot.
Ms. Pineda is currently in custody and is being held on $1.25 million bail, police said.
