Walmart Shoppers Could Get $500 Cash Payments as Part of $45 Million Lawsuit Settlement

Walmart shoppers who bought sold-by-weight goods such as meat or bagged citrus fruit between 2018 and 2024 may be eligible for a cash settlement of up to $500.

Some Walmart shoppers may be eligible to receive cash payments of up to $500 as part of a $45 million settlement the retail giant recently agreed to enter into in order to settle a lawsuit.

The settlement stems from a class action lawsuit in which Walmart was accused of three “systemic unfair and deceptive” business practices that caused customers to be charged more than a product’s lowest advertised per pound or per ounce price.
