Tesla will recall 159 Model S and Model X cars due to the possibility of the driver airbag deploying incorrectly, which increases the risk of an injury during a crash, according to a notice by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Thursday.
The U.S. auto regulator in October said Tesla would recall 54,676 Model X vehicles manufactured between 2021–2023, as the vehicle controller was likely to fail to detect low brake fluid and not display a warning light.
In August, NHTSA opened an investigation into 280,000 new Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles over reports of loss of steering control and power steering.
