Potential homeowners have many reasons for chasing the American dream, and a Nov. 19 Realtor.com report now finds that hosting Thanksgiving dinner plays an important role in the home search for more than half of them.

Sixty percent of both Generation Z (including ages 18 to 28) and millennials (ages 29 to 44) surveyed are focusing on space for hosting events—particularly the traditional turkey dinner—when conducting their home searches. This compares with just 47 percent of Gen X (ages 45 to 60) and 30 percent of baby boomers (ages 60 to 78).
