Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. said it is rolling out more privacy and security measures to help people in Ukraine following the country’s invasion by Russia.
What Happened
Meta said in a blog post that in the last 48 hours, it has taken down a network of about 40 fake accounts, groups and pages across Facebook and Instagram that published claims about the West betraying Ukraine and the European nation being a “failed state.”The fake accounts—operated from Russia and Ukraine—targeted people in Ukraine across multiple social media platforms and through their own websites, Meta noted.
