A British Airways computer expert attempted to volunteer to serve in the cabin crew during a planned strike at the airline.
ritish Airways employee Rajib Karim, 30, has since been charged with terror offenses under counterterrorism legislation for planning suicide bombing and his own martyrdom. According to the Times of London, it is alleged he came to Britain and found a job with the airline as part of a terrorist plot.
Anti-terrorist sources told the Times that investigations continue into Karim’s possible contact with terrorists in Yemen, from where al-Qaeda launched the Christmas plot to crash an airliner in Detroit. Karim also faces allegations of transferring money through associates and wire transfers to terrorists overseas.
