Brad Pitt said the death penalty may be appropriate for those responsible for the BP oil spill, according to reports.
“I was never for the death penalty before - I am willing to look at it again,” Pitt said during a documentary film, London’s Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.
The film, If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise, is directed by Spike Lee and shows the recovery of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Coast communities that were affected. It premiered on Aug. 23.
The documentary was set to have a happy ending with the New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl for the first time, but Lee said he had to alter that.

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill, which killed 11 workers in April and became the worst environmental disaster in US history, forced Lee to rethink the documentary.
Pitt has been heavily involved in a project called ‘Make it Right’, helping to build 150 affordable and sustainable homes in the areas hit worst by Katrina.
