Boston Snow Forecast 2013: 4 to 8 Inches of Snowfall Projected as Winter Weather Hits

Boston will see a snow storm today (December 17, as four to inches is projected in the latest weather forecast.

Massachusetts Governor said that all non-emergency state employees were released at 1:30 p.m. so that roads would be clear for plowing, and told private employers in the greater Boston area to consider releasing employees early as well.

The National Weather Service said that “heavy snow” and “hazardous travel conditions” will impact the evening commute, with snowfall rates of one inch per hour possible.

Visibility will be reduced to a quarter-mile or less, it said. 

Light snow has already begun falling and it is expected to intensify toward 4 p.m. while gradually declining until around 10 p.m.
