A body found in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee, is believed to be of a mother who went missing over a year ago.

Keila Ashford Freeman, a 29-year-old, was reported missing back on Sept. 5, 2016. According to FOX13, the missing mother of two has not been seen since the disappearance.

Zach Crenshaw, a journalist for the network, tweeted that the body was found Wednesday morning, Dec. 20.

According to FOX13, the body was found at an active police scene located in the area of Barnstable road and Keynon Drive.

Sources told the network that the body belonged to Keila Ashford Freeman. An official autopsy to confirm the identity has yet to be done.

The cause of death is also pending.

The mother’s husband, Randall Freeman, is the main suspect in her disappearance. He recently provided information on the location of Keila’s remains as part of an agreement.

Randall was charged with 13 counts of attempted first-degree murder and multiple counts of attempted aggravated arson.

He currently remains in jail and is accused of firebombing a house last year on Sept. 4 at the 7000 block of Germanshire Lane in southeast Memphis, according to the Commercial Appeal, a daily newspaper in Memphis.

Randall allegedly threw a bomb through a window, causing the house to set on fire. At the time, five people were inside the house and escaped.

As of writing it’s still not clear what connection there is between the firebombing incident and the couple. Randall is expected to face new charges.

“We can confirm that we went to the location (where the remains were found) based upon information provided yesterday,” Shelby County Dist. Attorney General Amy Weirich said in a statement obtained by Commercial Appeal.

“We can confirm that the information was provided relative to the case of Keila Freeman who has been missing since Sept. 5, 2016. We can also confirm that her husband Randall Freeman remains in custody on previous arson and attempted murder charges, but a new charge is expected as well as a disposition in all of his cases.”
