Biden Admin Releasing Convicted Criminal Illegal Aliens Into US

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released over 1,300 convicted criminal illegal aliens into the United States in the last three months of 2022.

Federal law enforcement reported a spike in encounters with illegal aliens convicted of crimes since President Joe Biden took office two years ago and reversed many Trump-era immigration policies that were responsible for stemming the flow of illegal aliens across the U.S.–Mexico border.

This has resulted in the illegal entry of thousands of foreign criminals, including those convicted of assault, theft, rape, and murder.

From Oct. 1 to Dec. 18, 1,363 illegal alien convicts and over 1,800 illegal aliens with pending criminal charges against them were released into the United States, according to the latest data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

It appears that DHS is quietly increasing the number of releases, as the number of illegals released from custody in the first three weeks of December overtook the total number of releases in November, Breitbart reported.

The White House has discouraged enforcement of existing federal immigration laws by backing “sanctuary” counties, which provide a local haven for the estimated 11 million to 22 million illegal aliens throughout the country from arrest and deportation, according to Breitbart.

In a Jan. 5 announcement, the White House said the majority of people trying to cross the southern border into the United States are from Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti, and Venezuela, and that the government would expand its immigration parole program to allow illegal aliens from these countries to live and work in the United States.

“Up to 30,000 individuals per month from these four countries, who have an eligible sponsor and pass vetting and background checks, can come to the United States for a period of two years and receive work authorization,” the White House said.

GOP Lawmakers Target DHS Leadership, Funding

RJ Hauman, head of government relations and communications at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), told Breitbart that the Biden administration may be in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by allegedly ordering DHS to conduct the mass release of illegal alien convicts.

“The law explicitly requires that those who cross the border illegally be detained, but the Biden administration clearly doesn’t want to detain or deport anyone,” Hauman said. “So it isn’t surprising that they are attempting to undermine the rule of law by not only cutting overall detention capacity but illegally releasing criminal aliens as well.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) called for the resignation of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in November.

“If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure. We'll determine whether we can begin impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy said in a press conference.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) called on his colleagues in the House to stop funding the DHS if it will not protect the southern border.

“It is time right now for the House majority to do our job, and we’re going to have to stop funding a Department of Homeland Security that refuses to secure the border of the United States,” Roy said in a speech on the House floor on Monday.
