The release date for “Batman vs. Superman” has been pushed back to summer 2016, but production of the highly anticipated film will begin on schedule very soon.

The main players in the movie--including Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Amy Adams--have been summoned to start work “right away,” reported Deadline.

The impending work forced Affleck to put on hold other commitments, including producing the pilot for the new television series “The Middle Man.”

Originally scheduled for July 2015, the release date for “Batman vs. Superman” has been pushed back to May 6, 2016.

The push back happened, according to rumors, because Affleck injured himself while skiing around Christmas time.

Forbes pointed out that the release date was pushed so far back because it’s basically unacceptable to release a blockbuster film anytime after August.
