A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Pakistan on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Death toll numbers have been rising, with Australia’s ABC putting it at 30 people, and other news outlets, including Al Jazeera, putting it at 25.

Many houses were damaged in the Awaran district, according to local media reports.

The epicenter was 43 miles north-northeast of Awaran in Balochistan Province.

Balochistan is the largest province in Pakistan—it is approximately the size of Montana—but it is relatively sparsely populated by just under 8 million people, according to the Weather Channel.

Some tremors were felt as far as Delhi, India.
