A 2-year-old Philadelphia boy was found dead of a gunshot wound that’s believed to be self-inflicted, according to Philly.com.

Officials said the boy was playing with a stolen gun inside the family’s Olney rowhouse. Officials told Philly.com that they’re not going to charge anyone with a crime.

The handgun was reported stolen in 2015. The death of the child is being considered accidental and “no charges [are] expected to be filed at this time.”

A neighbor dialed 911 and his father rushed home and took the child to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.

Neighbors remembered the boy “as a playful, happy” child, and noted that they often saw him walk with his grandmother, said NBC.

The Child Firearm Safety Alliance said that 296 children have been shot by negligently stored guns so far this year with 116 of them fatal.
