The villains for Avengers: Age of Ultron could be Inhumans.

In the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, two super villains, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, were introduced. Since Marvel Studios previously released key tidbits about the first Avengers film in the original Captain America film, it can be assumed that these two villains will reappear in Age of Ultron.

Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver are mutants in the Marvel comic universe, but have been rebooted as Inhumans on film, according to Unleash the Fanboy. The change of origins is most likely because Fox Studios holds the cinematic rights to depicting on-screen mutants.

Inhumans were prehistoric humans, but after being subjected to experiments by the alien Kree, they became superhuman. The Inhumans would go on to establish their society on the moon.

Incidentally, the Kree will feature in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Ronan the Accuser, the film’s main villain, is a Kree.

Guardians of the Galaxy will hit the big screen on August 1, 2014.

Filming of Age of Ultron begins March 20.

At the Wizard World Comic Con in Sacramento, CA, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth everything in the Avengers sequel “just gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more insane and crazy.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron will premiere May 1, 2015.
