Just several weeks after the ASUU strike finally ended, the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) began a strike on Tuesday.

The general secretary of the union, Nuhu Ogirima, said in a letter to Nyesom Wike that the federal government has failed to address issues raised by the union.

The union’s issues include alleged infrastructure decay, low funding, and not implementing aspects of an agreement reached in 2010.

While government held series of talks with the union leadership between September and December 2013, evidence abound that government does not wish to keep her side of the bargain in meeting the understanding reached at such meetings,” the letter read, reported 360Nobs.

“This, without equivocation, is unacceptable to our union given the peculiar high nuisance and volatile nature of the colleges of education sector.”

The federal government hasn’t responded to the allegations as of yet.
