Wisconsin state senator Kathleen Vinehout was injured in the massive pile-up on I-94.
The huge crash at one point shut down the highway between Chicago and Milwaukee.
Vinehout’s office said via Facebook that Vinehout’s vehicle was involved in the crash.
“She is currently receiving care at a local hospital,” the office said. “If more details become available we will do our best to let you know.”
Vinehout appeared to have injured her arm, a member of her staff told The Progressive blog.
Vinehout is expected to run for governor.
