War Machine says that his alleged abuse against former girlfriend Christy Mack was “self-defense 100 percent.”

A letter reportedly written by Jonathan Koppenhaver from jail gives insight into his view on what happened, including that he had gone over to Mack’s home to help her set up her booth for a tattoo expo the following morning.

“I dunno if they heard me come into the house or what but dude straight ambushed me as soon as I entered the bedroom,” Machine said in the letter, which was obtained by TMZ.

“I can’t get into all the details but that [expletive] was self-defense 100 percent!!”

Machine added that he hopes the inconsistencies in their stories and crime scene evidence will work in his favor.

And he said that Mack got what she deserved, calling what happened a “betrayal.”

“I can only speculate on how I would have reacted if I would have only caught them in bed,” he said.

Machine, who is facing 32 counts in the alleged crime, said that he plans on raising money by selling gear, including shirts, that say #FreeWar.

“They should be up in less than a month,” he said, on a website FreeWarMachineMMA.com.

Meanwhile, a preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for October 17, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Mack is expected to testify at the hearing.
