Government officials announced police have killed two of the 10 to 15 attackers in the Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya, reports local news outlet Daily Nation.

Officials also said most hostages have been released, though a source familiar with the rescue operation told the Associated Press Monday no hostages had been released overnight. The person spoke on condition of anonymity.

Backing the source’s report is the fact that no hostages appeared at the Oshwal Centre that the Red Cross is using as a triage center.

At least two soldiers were attended to at the center on Monday. The Daily Nation reports 10 soldiers have been injured.

Kenya police tweeted Monday: “We’re appealing to Kenyans to remain calm, security team is doing everything possible to ensure that the hostages/team are safe.”

The police and the Red Cross both urged people to stay away from the mall and to avoid speculation.

The death told is 62, with 175 injured, and an unknown number still being held hostage.
