President Donald Trump has questioned why the Obama administration opened an investigation into the Trump campaign months before the November 2016 elections, while not addressing the real-life threat of Russian interference.

The FBI under the Obama administration opened an investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia as early as July 2016, and the CIA also conducted its own investigation.
