A mystery woman with what appeared to be broken restraints strapped to her wrists woke a Texan resident at her home at 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 24.The Sunrise Ranch resident woke up to 20 to 30 unexpected rings at the doorbell of her Montgomery home, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Las Vegas Police Shoot Man Who Allegedly Stabbed 2 Women at Random
Las Vegas Police released video footage of an officer-involved shooting of a stabbing suspect armed with a knife who was trying to flee officers.
In the video, the suspect can be seen acting erratically as officers order him to put down the knife. “Put the knife down,” one officer tells the man. “Hey, drop the knife,” another adds.
Update: Woman in Canada Abduction Video Found Safe
Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect wanted in an alleged abduction in York.
The victim, a 28-year-old woman, is safe after police released a video showing her ringing a doorbell at a home in Richmond Hill at 2:50 a.m. earlier this month. She was found on Aug. 24, according to York Regional Police in a statement.
Australia Beach Closed After Headless Whale Washes Ashore
Bondi Beach in Australia was closed on Aug. 28 after a shark-bitten, headless whale carcass washed ashore.
The whale was covered with a number of shark bites and was believed to be a juvenile humpback. The whale was also missing its tail, an official with the National Parks and Wildlife Service told AAP.

A New Mexico firefighter is being called a hero after shielding a woman from the gunfire of a gun battle.
Espanola Police shared surveillance video on Facebook that shows Espanola firefighter Enrico Trujillo running into the store to shield the woman, a customer, while a gunfight plays out.
