A ski jumper takes flight during the large hill team ski jumping event at the FIS World Cup Nordic Opening 2011 on Nov. 27 in Kuusamo, Finland. There was concern that ski jumping events would have to be postponed due to unseasonably warm weather in Europe, however only preseason workouts were affected. The season opening event has been held at Kuusamo since 2002, despite being a notoriously windy mountain. The wind canceled events on Saturday, but the event went on Sunday in snowy conditions.
