When might Sony launch its new flagship phone?

The Japanese consumer electronics giant announced the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact at the IFA, a mere six months after the launch of their last flagship phone, the Xperia Z2.

The Xperia Z3 and its smaller sized counterpart is being released at different dates in a number of countries.

Taiwan is the first country to get the phones on September 19, followed by India on September 25, and in the United Kingdom on September 26.

Sony will also make the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact available in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Singapore will be the first to get the phone on October 4.

There isn’t an official United States release date, but CNET speculates that Sony could launch the phones in a New York press event on October 9.

Sprint and T-Mobile will be carrying the Xperia Z3, while AT&T and Verizon have yet to confirm if they are carrying the latest Sony device.
