The coastal town of Saltburn, England, was hit by flash floods due to heavy rain Friday. Cars were swept away, though all drivers were accounted for and safe afterward. Some 60 homes were evacuated, reports the BBC.

Saltburn Councillor Phillip Thompson told the BBC the flooding was “unprecedented.”

About 20 people were rescued from imminent danger, a fire service spokeswoman told Sky News. She said about 200 calls were made to emergency services within a three-hour period from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
