Ryan Widmer, who was convicted in 2011 of killing his wife, Sarah, will not have his case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, reports Local 12.

Widmer is serving fifteen years to life for the murder. His wife was found dead in a bathtub at the couple’s Warren County, Ohio, home in 2008.

A Facebook page set up to support Widmer, titled “Free Ryan Widmer,” has over 5,000 likes.

Carolyn Marie Legg wrote Sept. 30: “You’re in my prayers today Ryan. I hope they have good news by the end of the day. Stay strong!! God will bring justice for this for you, for Sarah, and for all of your friends and family rooting for you.”

Widmer’s attorney, Michele Berry, argued that the forensic science used in part to convict Widmer was bunk.

Criminologist William Hillard testified that a streak on the tub belonged to a small-statured person and a hairy forearm print on the top of the tub likely belonged to a man, reports the Dayton Daily News

Berry was pushing for DNA testing of Sarah Widmer to see if she had a rare genetic disorder that may have caused her to loose consciousness in the tub.
