He got more than 10 million hits on YouTube, but how many votes will he get in mayoral elections?

YouTube star Robert Wilkinson is a mayoral candidate in Edson, Alberta, Canada, a town of about 8,000 people. He earned his fame on YouTube when he belted out “Bohemian Rhapsody” from the back of a police car after being picked up for drunk driving. (See video below)

His epic, lengthy solo finished with the words: “Nothing really matters, even the RCMP [Royal Canadian Mounted Police].” Then, he calmly put on his glasses and asked whether he needed to be handcuffed as he got out of the car.

Wilkinson was convicted of impaired driving, reports the Toronto Star. He was fined $1,400 and his license was suspended for a year following the incident last November.

He was featured on TrueTV’s “World’s Dumbest Criminals.”
