ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—According to local Pakistani media, three suspects linked to Ajmal Kasab, the only surviving gunman of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, are being detained and investigated for their alleged involvement with these attacks.
India has repeatedly demanded the release of all suspects connected to the attacks.
Pakistan has said it is willing to cooperate with Indian authorities, but says it will not hand over suspects until its own investigation is complete.
On Feb. 9, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s office said that it needs more information from India before it can complete its investigation.
Among the many indications of the deteriorating relationship between India and Pakistan since the attacks, is the recent request by the Pakistani Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting to ban all Indian channels from cable television.
Many Pakistanis enjoy watching Indian TV and films and the banning of Indian channels would be a significant attempt to disconnect from India.
