Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler, joined by law enforcement officials throughout the county, last week announced that 25 defendants have been charged with trafficking heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.

“Operation County Spring Cleaning” occurred throughout the early spring and utilized undercover police officers to purchase narcotics. Law enforcement officers conducted car stops and executed search warrants. The sweep targeted heroin, cocaine, and marijuana in cities and towns, and on highways throughout the county.

Several law enforcement agencies took part in the sweep, including the newly created Orange County Drug Task Force. That task force is run under the supervision of a Senior Criminal Investigator from the District Attorney’s Office and a lieutenant from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to personnel from those agencies, the Drug Task Force is composed of police officers from other Orange County police departments.
