Musical Acts to Look Forward to in 2014

There’s something about years with an even number involved where music seems to thrive more than usual. 2014 has proven to be packed with upcoming album releases from artists who haven’t released material in years. While album releases are a different animal, what’s even bigger is the fact that some of the biggest acts will perform in the New York City/Long Island area in the first half of 2014.

Here is a list of acts that will grace upon us in the first few months from some of the prominent venues (listed in alphabetical order). 

Barclays Center:

Rock and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Thurs 4/10: The acts that are inducted this year are Nirvana, KISS, Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, Peter Gabriel and more.

BB Kings:

Scott Ian of Anthrax Spoken Word Tour Wed 2/5: This should be an interesting time hearing a candid version of the past 30 years of his life and career with Anthrax.


Best Buy Theater:

Falling in Reverse: Thurs 1/30

Bring Me The Horizon Fri 2/28 and Sat 3/1

Alter Bridge Thurs 4/24


Bowery Ballroom:

St. Lucia Sat 1/18 and Sun 1/19: St. Lucia, also known as Jean-Phillip Grobler, will be preforming earlier in the week at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

The War on Drugs Thurs 3/20: They will also be performing the next night at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Billy Joel: As long as his concerts are in demand, he will be preforming at the legendary venue every month.
