The Nexus 8 could be announced this week.
Google and HTC are supposedly working on a Nexus 7, and it has been dubbed the Nexus 8, Nexus 9, HTC Volantis, HTC Flounder, and HTC T1.
As the phone allegedly has a 8.9 inch screen, it is likely that the phone will be known as the Nexus 8 or Nexus 9, while HTC Flounder and HTC T1 could be working names.
According to PhoneArena.com, this device will feature a full aluminum body, something that HTC is already doing with the HTC One (M8).
The tablet will also feature a 64-bit Tegra processor, have 4GB of RAM, pack a MDM9x25 modem, and run on Android L OS, according to Twitter tipster @upleaks.
GforGames reports that Nexus 8 has been certified under FCC’s Korean counterpart, the Radio Research Agency (RRA), so the phone might be more than just speculation at this stage.
In fact, the Nexus 8 could come out this week. HTC is holding an event on August 19 in New York City, and there are plenty of rumors about what the Taiwanese manufacturer is going to launch.
HTC could be launching its Windows Phone 8.1 version of the HTC One (M8), but there is an outside’s chance that they could be announcing the Nexus 8.
