A release date has been reportedly issued for Motorola’s upcoming smartphone.
Droid Life reports that their sources “confirmed” that Verizon will be releasing the Moto X+1 (X2) by September 25.
This release date is consistent with Motorola’s announcement in February that the next version of the Moto X+1 is slated for a “late” summer 2014 launch.
Summer technically ends on September 22, so if the rumor is accurate, it isn’t too far off Motorola’s projection.
Earlier in July, Motorola trademarked the name “Moto Maxx,” leading to speculation that this will be the Moto X+1 (X2).
If the Moto X+1 (X2) is indeed the original Moto X’s successor, it will likely be a MotoMaker phone. This means that buyers can customize their phone’s shell, and can select from various leather, wood, and plastic backs.
Geekbench has also some information about the Moto X from some performances tests.
The smartphone supposedly runs a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, and features 2GB of RAM.
Motorola hasn’t officially announced the phone or its launch date yet, though, so all information about the phone should be taken with a grain of salt.
