On August 6, Disney launched a new phone line to help kids get to sleep more easily. By dialing 877-7-Mickey, listeners can hear one of five special messages from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, or Goofy.
“77 percent of parents are exhausted by the process of getting their children to bed,” stated Disney in a press release, citing a survey conducted by OnePoll for Firefly.
Each phone call has a one-message limit, but parents or kids can call back as many times as they want.
Disney also recently launched a new Sleep Shop with sleepwear, blankets, light-up tumblers, plush toys, bedtime buddies, etc. On its official website, there are also tips to help kids develop better sleep habits.
Lauren Olson, a certified pediatric sleep coach, also gave some tips via Disney, such as parents installing black out shades to block the sunlight and prevent children from waking up too early. Parents can also introduce a stuffed toy “friend” that is only offered during bedtime that might help comfort children.
The phone line 877-7-Mickey (877-764-2539) will be available until the end of August in the U.S. and Canada.
