Surrounded by friends and supporters at the Hotel Indigo in Pittsburgh, former hedge fund CEO David McCormick said on June 3 that he’s conceding the Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Senate race to celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz.

“We came so close, by the slimmest of margins on election night with thousands of votes outstanding,“ McCormick said at the event. ”We spent the last 17 days making sure that every Republican vote was counted in a way that resulted in the will of Pennsylvania voters being fulfilled.
