House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) declared on May 25 that he will stay in Washington, D.C. “for as long as it takes” in an effort to come to an agreement on the debt ceiling that’s “worthy of the American people.”

McCarthy took to Twitter amid the ongoing political deadlock where he penned, “I’m staying in DC to fight for an agreement that’s worthy of the American people—for as long as it takes.”
