Protest clashes erupted in Bahrain and Yemen over the weekend as police tried to disperse angry demonstrators.

In Bahrain, around 200 people were injured when police fired rubber bullets, tear gas, and a water cannon, according to reports.

Police initially pushed back protesters as they attempted to block the road leading to the financial district, in the capital Manama. Later, thousands of protesters gathered and succeeded in erecting barricades across the highway, according to reports.

In Yemen, violence escalated over the weekend, with seven people killed and over 1,000 wounded.

On Sunday, one person was killed and a hundred wounded when Yemeni police fired tear gas and live bullets at protesters from rooftops, according to the Press Association.

At least six people were killed and 1,250 wounded Saturday in protests in the capital Sana'a, according to BBC.
