Drinking fresh cold pressed juice has provided me and thousands of others great results. We have lost weight, improved our energy, and address existing medical conditions with juicing. One of my keys to success is getting into a routine.

My typical routine is to juice for 3 days and take a break for 4 days. I make one big batch of juice on Sunday night which is important to drink within 72 hours to maintain the maximal amount of vitamins, mineral, and enzymes. This has provided great results and helped me stick with juicing.

But what happens when our neat little schedules get turned upside down?

This recently happened when I went on an adventurous trip with a friend. One of my few remaining single friends asked me to travel to Las Vegas with them for one final summer trip. Given that I hadn’t been to Las Vegas in a few years it wasn’t difficult to convince me.

But what do about juicing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday?

I decided to juice using Evolution Fresh juice from the Starbucks located in the hotel lobby. Evolution juice uses high hydrostatic pressure or HHP to extend the normal shelf life from 3 days to 2 weeks. I recently wrote about my concerns about HHP and the early data suggested it was a good but not a perfect match to true freshly produced juice.

I found the Evolution juices to be delicious and very refreshing while on my vacation in Las Vegas. My favorites were the Sweet Greens and Organic Ruby Roots as these most closely matched my personal green and red juice recipes that I use each Sunday night.

The 16 ounce Sweet Greens included celery, apple, cucumber, spinach, romaine, kale, lime, and lemon. It contains 100 calories and is packed with potassium, vitamin C and vitamin K.

The 16 ounce Organic Ruby Roots included apple, beet, cranberries, carrot, turmeric, cucumber, orange, lemon, ginger, and acerola. Wondering what’s acerola? I didn’t know either but I’m a fan now. This cherry like fruit is packed with vitamin C, B, along with carotenoids and bioflavonoids.

So at the end of my trip, I managed to stay on my juicing regimen, have a great weekend with my friend, and I ended up a couple hundred dollars. Not a bad trip.
