LONDON—Global shares were steady on Friday as investors scrutinised China’s latest moves to bolster its flagging economy before turning to U.S. jobs data later for clues on whether the Federal Reserve will raise rates this month.

Oil was set to snap a two-week losing streak, heading towards $90 a barrel as tightening supplies put a floor under prices.
