Highly rated goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa wants to stay in France.

The 28-year-old shot stopper had an excellent World Cup 2014 with Mexico, but is currently out of a job after his 3-year contract with French Ligue 1 side Ajaccio ended early in the summer.

Ochoa has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Malaga so far, but his agent, Christophe Monga, says that the goalie wants to stay in France if possible, according to Sky Sports.

“His priority is to stay in Ligue 1,” Monga told Europe 1.

“He was approached by two French clubs, but we rejected the offers because it was not the challenge he was expecting.

“His priority is to stay in France but, if there are no offers, we'll see what happens in the European market,” Monga added.

On his end, Ochoa wishes to take his time to consider his options before committing.

“I have received several proposals,” said Ochoa.

“They are from French teams and others from Europe.

“But it’s still not the moment to decide. I am going to analyze everything and take my time.

“So, I am going to enjoy this spare time and, in two weeks, when I have taken a decision, I will let the press know.”
