‘Project Runway’ Gets a Wii Game

A “Project Runway” video game for the Nintendo Wii system will hit retail stores on March 2, according to the shows’ blog. The popular reality show chronicles the competition of 16 aspiring clothing designers who are coached and criticized by industry expert judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Tim Gunn, and Michael Kors.

The game will “put players in the role of aspiring fashion designer” while facing the same type of theme-based challenges seen on the show. Players will pick hair, make-up, accessories, and will face the critical eyes of the judges. The blog also reports “players can then become the model and strut their creations down the runway using the Wii Balance Board accessory.”
The season 7 premier of Project Runway will hit airwaves on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on Lifetime.

New Baby for Black Crowes’ Frontman

The Black Crowes’ frontman Chris Robinson and his wife Allison Bridges celebrated the arrival of a new daughter Cheyenne Genevieve Robinson (6 pounds, 3 ounces), at their California home on Dec. 26. His rep told People magazine that the baby is “a healthy and beautiful baby girl, and that he plans to spend time at home before his band begins new projects and a tour in 2010.”

Rush Limbaugh Out of Hospital

Conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh experienced chest pains and was rushed to a Honolulu hospital while on vacation for the holidays. Limbaugh was released on Friday, Jan. 1, and has indicated that extensive tests have showed no issues.

Limbaugh has commented to reporters that he had “an angiogram, which is a catheter treatment through the heart, and they found absolutely nothing wrong. It was a blessing—no arterial disease, no coronary disease whatsoever.” But added that “the pain was real, and they don’t know what caused it.”

Limbaugh indicates he plans to be back at work on air on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Former ‘Idol’ Contestant Marries

Best remembered for his long dreadlocks and his talented guitar playing, the 22-year-old former American Idol contestant from season 7, Jason Castro, is now a married man.

After reportedly proposing to his girlfriend last Halloween while the two were dressed in Beauty and the Beast costumes, Castro married Mandy Mayhall in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 2. Photos of the couple were posted on Twitter, showing the bride in a strapless trumpet style dress ... and leaving their reception while guests held sparklers.
Castro is said to be planning an album release this spring and will tour later this year.

Broadway Fights AIDS

A record breaking $4.6 million was raised by 60 Broadway, off-Broadway, and National Tour companies in support of the 21st annual Gypsy of the Year Competition, according to looktothestars.org

The competition, which took place Dec. 7-8 at New York’s Palace Theater is a variety/talent show where New York’s most talented “gypsies” (the chorus members from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows) showcase their talents for charity.

During the six-week period leading up to the competition, the participating shows engage in a friendly fundraising competition for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), a charity that provides grants to Actors Fund Social Services, and American Family Services, and AIDS organizations.

“A Steady Rain,” staring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman, raised over $1.5 million, which reportedly more than double the record last set in 2003 by “The Boy from Oz” in which Jackman also performed according to looktothestars.org.
