Graceland season 2 is slated to wrap up on Wednesday night and fans are wondering whether the show will be canceled or renewed.
The network has yet to make an official announcement either way.
Unfortunately, most signs are pointing to a cancellation. The primary one is that the ratings have dropped from season 1. The first season averaged about 2.2 million viewers per episode, while the season season has dipped to 1.25 million per episode. Shows usually dip in ratings but that kind of drop is pretty big.
However, a major entertainment website is saying that a renewal is expected.
Entertainment Weekly reported on Graceland’s Serinda Swan landing a multi-episode arc on Chicago Fire.
“Swan’s casting is not expected to affect her role on Graceland, which hasn’t yet been renewed for a third season, but is expected to return.”
So that’s a piece of evidence in favor of the show getting renewed.
If the show does get a renewal, then there’s already a plan in place.
Showrunner Jeff Eastin told TV Guide last year: “To be honest, we’ve already planned out the next couple of seasons.”
And if the show gets renewed, it will likely premiere in June 2015. Season 1 started on June 6, 2013 and season 2 started on June 11, 2014.
