Plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Vice President Mike Pence on Jan. 6 asked the Supreme Court to intervene after a district court and an appeals court rejected the case.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Arizona’s Republican electors, and other plaintiffs filed an emergency application, requesting intervention from Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, a President George W. Bush appointee.
