Global Citizen announced earlier today its lineup for the third annual Global Citizen Festival at Central Park. This year’s performers include some of the biggest names in music like: Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, No Doubt, Fun., The Roots and Tiesto.

The Global Citizen Festival is held every September at the Great Lawn in Central Park. Although it is a free event, attendees earn these tickets by taking action in ending extreme poverty on the Global Citizen website. Those who have an account can earn as many points as neccessary to spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, signing petitions and watching videos on people who live in place where they have little access to food, water and medicine. A minimum of eight points is required to enter for tickets and can enter up to 6 times.

Last year’s Global Festival included performances from Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Kings of Leon, John Mayer and surprise performances from Janelle Monae and Ed Costello and celebrity appearances from Katie Holmes, Gerard Butler and Bono.
