An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck north-western Peru on Saturday, March 15 at 11:51 p.m. UTC (7:51 p.m. ET), according to United States Geological Survey (USGS).

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck north-western Peru on Saturday, March 15 at 11:51 p.m. UTC (7:51 p.m. ET), according to United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The quake’s epicentre was 42km south-south-west of Piura and it occurred at a depth of 12km, the USGS said.

There are no reports of injuries or damage at the time of writing.
