On April 3 at Sephora on Fifth Avenue in New York City, Josie Maran, in partnership with Angela Lindvall and Petra Nemcova, launched three new limited-edition bottles of the argan oil that Josie Maran Cosmetics is known for. About 200 people attended the event.
Ten percent of the purchase price of every bottle will be donated to a cause of the designing model’s choice.
“Living in a sustainable, earth-friendly way that benefits the planet has always been an essential part of beauty for me,” Maran explained in a press release.
“Petra and Angela are also so dedicated and passionate about the causes they support, and I wanted to share our enthusiasm with the world. We want to encourage everyone to join us in becoming ’model citizens,' and the limited-edition Argan Oils are a great place to start.”
Their slogan, as listed on Josie Maran’s website, is: “Three Model Citizens. Three charities to support. Three bottles of Limited Edition 100% Pure Argan Oil.”

Maran’s bottle will benefit Women for Women International, an organization that enables women who are survivors of war to become economically self-sufficient through direct aid, rights education, job skills training, and small business development.
As a tsunami survivor herself, Nemcova chose to contribute to her own foundation, the Happy Hearts Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rebuilding schools and restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of children after natural disasters.
Lindvall’s organization, Healthy Child Healthy World, empowers parents to protect children from harmful chemicals through educating them and helping them implement healthier practices, as well as actively engaging communities to create a healthier world.
