CSI Season 14 returns to CBS on Wednesday, April 2 with Episode 19 “The Fallen.”
In this episode, Russell is taken hostage after a teenager opens fire in a police station.
Russell will face down the teen with a handgun while he tends to the victim’s wounds.

In a TV Line exclusive clip of the episode, D. B. tries and succeeds in getting the handgun-toting teen to grab his plastic water bottle while he checks on the victim.
Later, he careful turns the blood-smeared bottle towards a security camera.
The CSI team eventually catch on Russell’s act, as they realize the teen left a bloody thumbprint on the bottle, which they could then use to identify and track him down.
It is unknown if the episode’s title, “The Fallen,” is a reference to the seemingly unstable teen, or a hint that Russell gets shot and “falls” in this episode.
In the promo for this episode, it is announced that there is “one officer dead and four others wounded.”

The kid is also seen pointing the gun at Russell’s head and says, “You don’t know who I am, but the world’s gonna know.”
“Because you know why? It’s over.”
