A fire under a L train on the Blue Line in Chicago on Friday prompted an evacuation of the train and a partial halt in Blue Line service.

The CTA said that it is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

The fire has temporarily suspended service between O‘Hare and Cumberland, the agency said. O’Hare bound trains may be turned back toward Loop at Jeff Parkway.

The fire started with what looked like sparks from beneath the train, a witness told the Chicago Tribune.

Shuttle buses took riders that were evacuated to nearby stops.

No injures have been reported.
