Border Arrests Plummet Again as Trump Administration Proclaims ‘Unprecedented Achievement’

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Oct. 8 that the number of “enforcement actions“ decreased in September for the fourth straight month, and were down 64 percent since their peak in May, 2019.

In fiscal year 2019, CBP encountered 977,509 people attempting to cross the southwest border.
