Sixty-nine-year-old Linda is proof that you’re never too old for a new look. One particularly famous hairstylist helped.

Seeking a mental boost, Linda approached The Makeover Guy, Christopher Hopkins, and his team of highly skilled makeover professionals in 2018 to see if they were up for the challenge of revamping her appearance.

They were.

Linda wanted a makeover “to feel refreshed,” she revealed, speaking into Hopkins’s studio camera, “and to have a great time.” So she packed a suitcase and made the long trip from Panama to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hopkins owns a salon in Minneapolis called Makeover Guy Appearance Studios and has been making style dreams come true since 1990. He has even written a book titled “Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45.” Hopkins is also a renowned Broadway baritone and no stranger to the stage.

As such, when Linda walked through Hopkins’s studio door, she knew she was in for movie star treatment. “I’m so excited,” Linda gushed. “I can’t believe it. I’ve been giggling all morning [...] I just want him to make me look my best.”

Hopkins, experienced in the fine art of helping people whose sparkles have faded to reclaim their inner radiance, knew exactly what he needed to do. The style guru chatted with Linda about her life, made some decisions about her new style direction, and proceeded with the program.

Linda’s dull hair, tired and lackluster, needed an injection of vibrancy. Opting for a rejuvenating blonde, the makeover expert decided that a bold change would help bring out her subdued sparkle.

Linda, who hadn’t been blonde since her twenties, was overjoyed.

The style team chopped a few frazzled inches from the ends of Linda’s hair and used heated styling tools to achieve volume and dimension. Keen to imbue her beautiful skin with an inner glow, Hopkins moved on to a subtle, dewy makeup look and an outfit to complement her new style.

After several hours of TLC to Linda’s once-tired appearance, it was the 69-year-old’s turn to look in the mirror and greet her new self. She was knocked for six, and even better, she felt like a million bucks.

“Wonderful!” Linda exclaimed, as her blonde curls bounced buoyantly. “Refreshed, younger ...”

A voice behind the studio camera asks, “Was it everything you expected it to be?”

“More,” Linda replied. “I knew I had curly hair, but this has just made it so much fuller.”

“She knew she had curly hair,” Hopkins interjected, “but she hasn’t been blonde since she was ...”

“In my twenties,” Linda chimed. “I wasn’t concerned at all. I was just ready for change.”

Linda’s stunning makeover was shared on YouTube, and supportive comments flooded in. “Unbelievable!” wrote one viewer. “One of the best transformations ever! Gorgeous!”

“Wow! Who knew she was a blonde bombshell?” asked another. “Besides Christopher, of course.”

As for Linda, she left Hopkins’s studio with a fresh feel, inside and out, and bouncy blonde curls destined to turn heads. “I’m smiling,” she quipped. “I haven’t smiled in years!”
