Mandatory evacuations have been ordered in Azusa and Glendora in California around the Colby burn scar.
The orders come as a storm is projected to hit the area around 11 p.m. PDT tonight.
There’s a flash flood watch that will come into effect beginning at 3 a.m., with the rain projected to intensify around 6 a.m.
The Colby fire impact area is under a code red, the city of Glendora said via its website. “All residents ordered to leave the impacted and/or potentially impacted areas,” it says under code red.
Residents are asked to remove vehicles, trash bins, and other obstructions from the street.
An evacuation center is set up at the Crowther Teen & Family Center, 241 W. Dawson.
In Asuza, a mandatory evacuation order has been issued for 11 residences. These “have been identified by the LA County Department of Public Works as having a high potential for mud flow flooding on Ridge View Drive,” according to the city. The order started at noon.
An evacuation center hasn’t been set up in the city as of yet.
